Today’s interesting find comes from ClassicCars TV’s 2023 Monterey Car Week series. This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette was campaigned by Alan Green Chevrolet in Burien, Washington. What’s significant about this one is that it was raced with Chevrolet’s experimental L88 427 before the engine reached production status. Gary Gove and Bud Weiser prepped the Vette for competition, with Gary racing the fiberglass flyer in SCCA AP Class competition. Gary was successful enough to be invited to the 166 Championship race at Riverside.
