As Veteran’s Day is approaching, Derek Shiekhi and I spent our time on AutoHunter.com‘s Drive the Bid discussing several novel automotive items that are connected to the men and women who have served. Presidential cars? Check. “Blackout” 1942 cars? Check. The development of driving controls for war-injured service? Check. Hurst Defenders newsletter during Vietnam? Check.

Our weekly Steve Magnante health update offered no new news, which we take has being stable. Other news included the upcoming Honda Ridgeline TrailSport and — can you believe it? — the 2024 Ram pickups won’t have a V8.

New to the podcast was a “Bacon’s Law”-type of puzzle where Derek tried to determine the connection among a quartet of Dodges. Also new was a quick take on an automotive history item, in this case Derek schooled me on the 1995 Ford GT90 show car.

And, finally, our AutoHunter picks: a 1994 Nissan 300ZX and 1968 Pontiac GTO. Take note on my rant about the air cleaner decal!
