HAYWARD — A shooting Sunday afternoon killed a Hayward resident and left police looking for the suspect, authorities said.
Officers responded to the 400 block of Berry Avenue about 2:45 p.m. and found the victim with more than one gunshot wound, according to a statement from Hayward police Officer Cassondra Fovel.
The 55-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities did not identify him Monday afternoon, pending notification of relatives.
Police said they have not made any arrests in the shooting’s aftermath.
The homicide is the ninth investigated by Hayward police this year and the third this month.
