DALY CITY – Two Daly City residents were displaced Monday night when an older model vehicle caught fire and the flames spread to their home, fire officials said.
The fire happened around 7:05 p.m. at a two-story home in the 800 block of Gellert Boulevard, the North County Fire Authority said in a news release. Crews arrived to find a burning vehicle parked in the driveway and flames spreading to the garage.
Crews worked to extinguish the fire while also ensuring the occupants had safely evacuated.
No injuries were reported.
An investigation revealed that the fire was accidental and most likely caused by a fuel line leaking gasoline onto the vehicle’s hot engine exhaust system, officials said.
The fire caused moderate damage to the home and destroyed three vehicles. Two residents were displaced, but they made arrangements to stay with other family members.
