FREMONT – Bomb threats were emailed to a pair of private schools Monday in Fremont, police said.
Students at the four campuses operated by the two schools were sent home out of an abundance of caution, the Fremont Police Department said in an advisory. The schools were not named in the advisory, and a spokesperson for the department did not immediately return a message seeking additional details about the incident.
Around 6:25 a.m., the schools received emails claiming explosives were inside the schools, police said.
Officers and school officials searched the campuses for suspicious items, but none were found, police said.
Other schools around the country received similar emails, police said, adding that the FBI is investigating.
