HALF MOON BAY – A 25-year-old Half Moon Bay man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of molesting a child, authorities said.
Detectives launched an investigation in March after receiving a report of a sexual assault involving a child, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The suspect was identified as Luis Antonio LaraPlancarte, the sheriff’s office said.
LaraPlancarte was arrested Wednesday in Half Moon Bay and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City on a charge of lewd and lascivious acts with a child.
The suspect is facing multiple allegations of sexual assault, the sheriff’s office said, adding that “there is concern for additional unknown victims who have not come forward.”
Anyone with information related to the case can contact Detective Nicole Pitts at 650-363-4060 or npitts@smcgov.org, or the sheriff’s office tip line at 800-547-2700.
