An 18-year-old man was arrested Friday on suspicion of stabbing an elderly man in the chest near the main branch of the Redwood City Public Library last month, police said.
The teenager was arrested just after midnight when officers found him at Courthouse Square in downtown Redwood City.
He was booked in San Mateo County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon for the attack on Sept. 20 near the library on Middlefield Road.
Police determined the 18-year-old was the suspect in a separate, strong-arm robbery in September near the Century Theatres. He was also charged with a felony robbery.
