OAKLAND — A man shot and killed in August has been identified by authorities and his family.
Jordan Emmanuel was shot in East Oakland on the morning of Aug. 2 and got himself transportation to Highland Hospital. He died about 20 minutes after walking into the hospital, wearing just one shoe and suffering gunshot wounds, authorities said.
A GoFundMe page by Emmanuel’s family says that he left behind a 6-month-old daughter and was “senselessly killed” while driving to work. Police confirmed Emmanuel was inside a vehicle when he was shot.
No suspect information has been released and police have not announced any arrests, nor revealed a suspected motive.
Police haven’t released Emmanuel’s age and city of residence, but said at the time he was in his 20s. Investigators were able to determine where he was shot based on gunfire detectors and the discovery of his other shoe in the 1900 block of 90th Avenue, authorities said.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the killer. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3821 or 510-238-7950 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
