Are new vehicles becoming less interesting these days? It seems everyone and his mom are producing 800-horsepower rockets. And with the proliferation of automatic-only vehicles, it just seems so easy to drive something fast without the need for talent. (Or, am I getting old?) So, without further ado, the ClassicCars.com Journal would like to announce the Centennial Edition Ford Shelby F-150 Super Snake.
If you missed the news, 2023 is the centennial of Carroll Shelby’s birth, and this truck is the last of Shelby American’s commemorative vehicles that has been rolled out throughout the year. Based on the F-150 Lariat 4×4 SuperCrew with the 400-horsepower 5.0-liter V8, Shelby American then adds the following:
- Dual Intake ram air hood
- 22-inch Shelby alloy black wheels
- Performance-spec tires
- Shelby front splitter
- Body-colored rocker extensions
- Body-colored fender flares
- Signature front fender vents
- Front bumper cover with air intake vents
- Centennial Edition Shelby badging
- Centennial Edition stripes
- Painted Shelby front grille
- Painted rear bumper cladding
- Tonneau cover with bed rug liner
Inside, you’ll find Centennial Edition leather recovers, tinted windows, billet racing pedals, carbon fiber touches, Shelby-badged console lid, signature floor mats, red accents, and a numbered dash plaque.
So far, sounds like a tarted-up truck, and you would not be wrong. But if you opt for the supercharged engine, then you’ll have a supertruck fulfilled:
- Shelby engineered 800HP Supercharger System
- Performance air intake with high-flow filter
- Black powder-coated supercharger and intake manifold
- Oversized carbon fiber air intake tube
- Performance aluminum heat exchanger
- Billet throttle body
- High-flow fuel injectors
- Front and rear brake pad and rotor upgrade
- Shelby by Borla performance exhaust
- Black dual exhaust tips
- Shelby by Ridetech suspension
- Front Ridetech /FOX adjustable coilover shocks
- Front Ridetech /FOX adjustable shocks
- Upper control arms
- Rear traction bars
- Rear sway bar
And — lucky you! — you will also receive a Carroll Shelby centennial book and black Stetson hat.
The cost for all this? $136,995 for the supercharged truck (which includes the donor vehicle). The naturally aspirated one almost seems unworthy of consideration in comparison but, if you have too many speeding tickets, you can buy it for $127,995. Either way, you’ll have one of 100 Centennial Edition Super Snake trucks to be built.
