RICHMOND — A Fairfield man was sentenced to 16 months he’d already served behind bars for killing a bicyclist in a 2022 crash, court records show.

Anthony Greenwood, 24, pleaded no contest to vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence, and hit and run, court records show. In exchange for his plea, he was sentenced to time served and participation in an 18-month anti-drunk driving program, court records show.

Greenwood was arrested on Aug. 23, 2022 after he allegedly got into two hit-and-run crashes in San Pablo. The crashes occurred within just a few minutes of each other, police said.

First, Greenwood crashed into a bicycle on the 2400 block of Church Lane, killing 57-year-old Daniel Villatoro Rubio. Then he struck a Cadillac head-on while driving the wrong way on San Pablo Avenue, near Robert H. Miller Drive, authorities said.

The plea deal was struck in May, but has not been previously reported.
