UNION CITY — A person was shot and killed Wednesday night and investigators are searching for the suspect, police said Thursday.
The shooting happened about 10:30 p.m. on the 33500 block of 7th Street in Union City. After arriving, officers found a victim with more than one gunshot wound and along with medics worked to save the person, according to a statement from Union City police.
An ambulance took the victim to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Authorities did not identify the person Thursday afternoon. Police spokesperson Sgt. Jean Jimenez said he could confirm only that it was an adult because of the nature of the investigation.
The homicide is the second killing investigated by Union City police in 2023.
“We’re still working on a motive right now,” Jimenez said.
Police did not release any information on possible suspects.
