The pony car is powered by an A-code 289 V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include center console, wood-rimmed steering wheel, disc brakes, and styled steel wheels. While the Mustang was introduced in April 1964, the GT Equipment Group was not introduced until the 1965 model year. Though most often associated with the 2+2 fastback (also a 1965 intro) and convertible, the GT package was also available on the hardtop. Combined with the available vinyl top, this Mustang hardtop offers a dignified look compared to its sportier, more popular brethren.
