Just days before Hunter Biden’s former business partner is set to testify before the House Oversight Committee, President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice is pushing for Devon Archer to go to prison.

Devon Archer worked closely with Hunter Biden for years. Starting in 2009, the two co-founded the investment firm Rosemont Seneca alongside John Kerry’s stepson – Christopher Heinz.

In 2013, Archer and Biden partnered with Chinese private equity investor Jonathan Li to establish a China-backed investment fund called BHR Partners. The investment firm is supported by some of China’s largest financial institutions – including the Bank of China.

Reuters reported in 2019:

BHR’s investments span a range of industries and companies, including one of the China’s main nuclear energy firms, China General Nuclear Power Corp, and AI startup Megvii Technology Ltd, also known as Face++. In 2015, BHR joined forces with AVIC Auto, a unit of Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), the country’s dominant aerospace and defense contractor, to buy Henniges Automotive, a U.S. auto parts company.

In 2014, Archer and Biden joined the board of Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings.

Records also show that Archer visited the White House in 2009 for a “holiday reception,” then in 2011 for a “group tour,” and a meeting with then-Vice President Joe Biden in the West Wing on April 16, 2014 – just days before Hunter and Archer joined the Burisma board.

In August 2014, Archer played golf with Joe Biden and his son in the Hamptons.

However, Archer was convicted of defrauding a Native American tribe in 2018. Archer is still appealing the conviction. Archer’s 1-year prison sentence was upheld by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

In March 2019, Archer contacted Hunter Biden as to why his father wasn’t assisting him with the charges, according to text messages found on Hunter’s abandoned laptop published by the Washington Examiner.

Archer allegedly asked Hunter, “Why did your dad’s administration appointees arrest me and try to put me in jail? Just curious. Some of our partners asking out here.”

“Why would they try to ruin my family and destroy my kids and no one from your family’s side step in and at least try to help me. I don’t get it. And I’m depressed. Bunch of these [Asian partners] getting in my head asking me the same so just curious what I should answer.”

Biden reportedly responded, “Every president’s family is held to a higher standard [and] a target. It’s the price of being the most powerful group of people in the world. It’s why our democracy remains viable. It’s unfair at times but in the end the system of justice usually works and like you we are redeemed and the truth prevails. The unfairness to us allows for the greater good.”

Hunter purportedly told his longtime friend, “And we aren’t a banana republic buddy. The powerful are targets in this country the more powerful they become. But the truth prevails if you have the stamina and guts and enough love to stay the course.”

“Every great family is persecuted prosecuted in the U.S. — you are part of a great family — not a side show not deserted by them even in your darkest moments,” Biden allegedly told Archer via text message. “That’s the way Bidens are different and you are a Biden. It’s the price of power.”

Archer is set to deliver closed-door testimony to the House Oversight Committee on Monday about what he knows regarding any involvement by Joe Biden in Hunter’s overseas business dealings.

Now, Joe Biden’s Department of Justice is attempting to push for Archer to go to prison just days before he is expected to give “bombshell testimony” to the House Oversight Committee.

On Saturday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York sent a letter to trial judge Ronnie Abrams calling for a date for when Archer must report to prison for his 2018 conviction.

Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) reacted to the Department of Justice letter during a Sunday interview on Fox News.

“I don’t want to put words in Devon Archer’s mouth, but I’ll say this: He has an opportunity to come tomorrow to the House Oversight Committee and tell the truth,” Comer said on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

Comer told host Maria Bartiromo, “This is the first time I have ever heard of the Department of Justice doing anything on a Saturday.”

“It’s odd that it was issued on a Saturday,” Comer said. “And it’s odd that it’s right before he’s scheduled to come in to have an opportunity to speak in front of the House Oversight Committee and tell the American people the truth about what really went on with Burisma.”

Comer continued, “So, I don’t know if this is a coincidence, Maria, or if this is another example of the weaponization of the Department of Justice.”

“But I can tell you this, the lengths to which the Biden legal team has gone to try to intimidate our witnesses, to coordinate with the Department of Justice, and to certainly coordinate with the Democrats on the House Oversight Committee to encourage people not to cooperate with our investigation, to encourage banks not to turn over bank records, to encourage Treasury not to let us have access to those suspicious activity reports, it’s very troubling,” he declared.

“And I believe that this is another violation of the law,” Comer proclaimed. “This is obstruction of justice. But, nevertheless, we’re going to continue to move forward and try to present the American people with the facts and the truth about this president and his family.”

New York Post journalist Miranda Devinewrote on Twitter, “The DOJ is trying to arrest Devon Archer ahead of his bombshell testimony Monday about Joe Biden’s involvement in his son Hunter’s Ukraine business when he was VP. U.S. attorney in the SDNY Damian Williams issued a menacing letter yesterday – Saturday – telling Judge Abrams to order Archer to go to jail immediately to serve a one year sentence for his fraud conviction.”

Archer’s attorney, Matthew Schwartz, told Politico on Sunday, “We are aware of speculation that the Department of Justice’s weekend request to have Mr. Archer report to prison is an attempt by the Biden administration to intimidate him in advance of his meeting with the House Oversight Committee.”

“To be clear, Mr. Archer does not agree with that speculation,” Schwartz added. “In any case, Mr. Archer will do what he has planned to do all along, which is to show up on Monday and to honestly answer the questions that are put to him by the Congressional investigators.”
