This ClassicCars TV feature is a 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SL built by Bespoke Upholstery and Restoration of Costa Mesa, California. Starting with a 34,000-mile 560 SL, this Mercedes became the recipient of various performance, suspension and cosmetic upgrades in the spirit of AMG offerings of the era. Power comes from an upgraded 5.6-liter V8, including custom tri-Y headers, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. When the gavel went down, this custom 560 SL sold for $173,600 at RM Sotheby’s 2023 Arizona auction.
