An 18-year-old girl was held against her will by being chained to a bed and raped for weeks before she escaped and sought help from her alleged captors’ neighbors, Houston police said.

The disturbing allegations were made by a girl who showed up shaking and barefoot to a woman’s door at a north Houston neighborhood.

The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office said they responded to the call on Sunday and arrested two people after an investigation.

Constable Mark Herman said in a media briefing on Monday that the girl had met 30-year-old Jose Reyes and that he had enticed her to go to the residence.

“It seems as though the male suspect was able to gain her confidence, met her somewhere and basically got her to go back willingly,” Herman said.

When she went inside the home she was allegedly held against her will and chained up to a bed by Reyes and a woman later identified as 29-year-old Jacueline Macias.

The victim was held for about a month while being raped and assaulted repeatedly, Herman said.

When Macias and Reyes left the house for a brief moment, the victim escaped her restraints and ran for help after climbing through a window, investigators said.

“She was in disarray, confused, as anyone would be, and wanted help,” Herman said.

Police said they found marks on her body consistent with the restraints she described. She was transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

Macias and Reyes have been charged with kidnapping, but police say they may face additional charges after they complete their investigation.

On Monday, police served a search warrant at the home in hopes of finding evidence about the allegations.
