Available now on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 1962 Chevrolet C10. It was built during the first generation of Chevrolet’s legendary C/K series of trucks, but it comes equipped with a variety of more modern features, including a new 454cid big-block V8, a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission with a 2,200-rpm stall converter, power front disc brakes, and Dakota Digital gauges. The Fleetside body has been refinished in a combination of blue and white and surrounds a color-coordinated vinyl interior. Once the winning bid is placed, the truck will go to its new owner with drivetrain-related receipts and a clear title.
The exterior has been refinished in blue with white accents on the roof of the “Comfort-King” cab, in the trim strips that stretch from the doors across the Fleetside bed, and on the tailgate. Other highlights include chrome bumpers and brightwork on the grille, door handles, and mirror housings. The contents of the bed are protected by a roll-up soft tonneau cover.
The center caps and trim rings on the new 15-inch steel wheels further highlight the exterior as well as the 255/60/15 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires that surround them.
Inside, this C10 continues the exterior color scheme with a blue and white vinyl bench seat and a coordinating dashboard and door panels. The cabin is equipped with manual steering and windows, a floor-mounted Lokar automatic shifter, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. According to the selling dealer, the lights, gauges, turn signals, and the radio are functional.
Vehicle information is displayed on a set of Dakota Digital gauges that includes a speedometer, tachometer, and readouts for the fuel level, oil pressure, water temperature, and voltage. The odometer shows 78,711 miles, but the true mileage on this truck is unknown.
The original engine has been replaced with a new 454cid big-block V8. That has been upgraded with orange valve covers, a Weiand Stealth aluminum intake manifold, a Holley Quick Fuel Technology carburetor, a black air cleaner, and an aluminum radiator. That upsized engine delivers its output to the road through a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission equipped with a 2,200-rpm stall converter.
Underpinnings consist of an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. A dual-circuit master cylinder and power front disc brakes and rear drums bring this truck to a stop. Receipts for the drivetrain upgrades will come with the purchase of the truck.
Bidding for this 454-powered 1962 Chevrolet C10 Fleetside pickup closes on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. (PDT).
