Imagine being able to turn back the clock and buy a brand-new 1999 Mustang. This might be as close as you can get to that experience (short of having a DeLorean time machine, anyway).

“19,800 miles. Everything works. Showroom condition,” the listing states.
The fourth-generation Mustang debuted in 1994 on the SN-95 chassis and it marked the largest redesign for the Mustang in 15 years. Even though the chassis shared similarities with the outgoing Fox platform, the body lines were smoothed and there were significant advancements to the suspension via new anti-roll bars and longer lower control arms. A performance-oriented Cobra model took things up a notch with a 5.0-liter V8, unique heads, beefier brakes, and model-specific shock absorbers.
A few years into its life cycle, the fourth-gen Mustang evolved into what became known as “New Edge” styling. The previous curvy body work was sharpened, and the newly-added bodyside creases added an element of strength to the profile. By now, the Cobra variant was powered by its popular 4.6-liter Modular V8 which was rated at 320 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque.
Showing fewer than 20,000 miles on the odometer, this Vermilion Red (code E8) Mustang coupe remains unmodified and well-kept. The listing states that the car has “No stories or accidents,” and the Carfax is available upon request. There are service records going back to new from the Ford dealer. The “dual cockpit” interior is trimmed in charcoal leather and has Cobra-embossed floor mats. My favorite feature of the cabin is the design on the rubber pedal pads, because they look like car tire treads.
It’s unclear how or why this car lasted over two decades without being driven much, but collectors will be glad to see it so preserved. Even the original AM/FM/CD/cassette audio system remains installed so you can rock out to a period-correct cassette tape while listening to that 4.6-liter V8 growl.
