‘Iconic’ dance at Heritage
Capitol Dance Company is staging “Cinderella” and “Iconic” June 24 at Campbell’s Heritage Theatre. Performances of “Cinderella” are at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. “Iconic” hits the stage at 7 p.m.

Hula workshop
Local residents who want to learn traditional hula taught by “those who embody aloha” can attend a three-day workshop in Campbell this summer led by Hālau Mana O Molokai (MOM). The workshop runs Aug. 18-20 and highlights Molokai, the birthplace of hula. It includes ceremony, protocol, presentations, talk story, pule (prayer), oli (chants) and Hula.
The workshop will be led by Kumu Lawrence and his wife, Kumu Kyrian. Ceremonies and four levels of advanced hula training will be held in the Roosevelt Redwood Room of the Campbell Community Center, 1 W. Campbell Ave.

Nature grants
Local organizations working in nature and conservation can apply for significant funding from the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District this year. The agency, which manages and preserves public and green space in the South Bay, has announced $250,000 in grant funding. The funds are available to support a variety of projects, from educational programs and applied science to building conservation partnerships.
Organizations can apply for the lower funding tier, which caps at $25,000 per project, or the higher tier, which reaches $50,000. The agency will host a public workshop for interested organizations July 13. Pre-proposals are due July 21. To submit a proposal and for more information, visit openspace.org/grants.
