Safe at Home

Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley, a nonprofit that helps repair and update homes in the South Bay, is hosting a “Safe at Home” event in Los Gatos on Saturday, July 8. The Safe at Home events allow volunteers from across the region to gather at a home and ensure it’s accessible, equipped for aging residents and protected from disasters.

On July 8, volunteers are putting the finishing touches on one Los Gatos family’s home. To volunteer and for more information, visit https://tinyurl.com/SafeAtHomeLG.

Vasona Lake updates

More residents are now able to enjoy the water at Vasona Lake County Park, one of the most frequented parks in the area. ADA-compliant boat docks were recently installed at the park. The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors directed the installation work, which was done by Guerra Construction Group.

Park opens after storm

Howes Play Lot, the small park located off Thomas Drive near Union Avenue, has been partially reopened to the public after storms early this year downed trees and forced the town to shut off access to the play structure. Town officials report that crews have removed the debris and the toddler play area is now open for use. The youth lot, however, took the brunt of the damage and is being removed and replaced.
