For most of us, we can thank Dad for introducing us to the automotive world. Not all dads are into cars but, for modern folks, all dads have cars. Even a regular daily driver that never warrants a second look may influence a kid and his fledgling automotive enthusiasm.

Since Father’s Day is approaching, Derek Shiekhi, “Jalopy Jeff” Sutton and I thought we would discuss the influence of our fathers in episode 10 of Drive the Bid. Derek’s dad was into old trucks and Mustangs. Jeff’s experience ranged from having a Ford truck that he disliked to going to vintage races at Willow Springs, not to mention his dad instilled a love for Corvettes. Me? My dad wasn’t into classics, but he was supportive of my interests through the new model years and trips to Carlisle and regional drag strips.

Other discussions include news on the announcement for Super Cruise being newly available on a Buick (in this case, the 2024 Envision), the 2024 Steeda McQueen Mustang, and a promising British sustainable fuel for classic cars.

Of course, we also discuss our favorite cars that are currently listed on AutoHunter, this time a troika of Teutons: a 1991 BMW 850i, 2017 Audi R8 V10 plus, and a Euro-spec 1980 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL.

All this can be seen in the above video from AutoHunter Cinema, created by the experts behind ClassicCars.com, the world’s largest online collector car marketplace. AutoHunter brings forth a dedicated live customer support team, quicker auction listings and exclusive benefits for both buyers and sellers.
