The Premier Body Armor Home Shield
Constructed of domestically sourced polyethylene, the Home Shield offers duty-rated durability. As a result, the shield is multi-hit capable in the event of a sustained engagement. However, at only 5mm thick (thinner than an iPhone), the shield remains a lightweight, easily managed 3.8 pounds.
Measuring 15×18 inches, the Home Shield covers most of the upper torso of an average-sized man. The back features a large duty-rated handle for a secure grip, along with an adjustable strap for a snug, universal fit. Featuring trimmed, angled corners, the shield allows for easy manipulation of a handgun.
Offering Level IIIA protection, the Home Shield is effective against 9mm, .357 Mag, .357 Sig, .44 Mag, and 12-gauge shotgun rounds. However, if you feel you may need protection against rifle rounds, Premier Body Armor also offers the Stratis Pro Level III+.
Slightly thicker and just over twice the weight, the Stratis Pro offers additional protection against 7.62×39, 5.56 M193, 7.62×51 M80, and 7.62x54R. The Stratis Pro is designed for law enforcement, executive protection, and locations where active shooter threats exist. But it would be suitable for home protection as well, in high-risk areas.
