Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 1983 Pontiac Trans Am. It is is powered by a 305ci V8 engine backed by a four-speed automatic transmission.

Anyone who grew up in the 1980s will fondly remember KITT from the David Hasselhoff show Knight Rider, and this car could almost be a clone of the famous talking car who co-starred in the show.

This Trans Am is nicely equipped with power steering and brakes, a tilt steering column, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, bucket seats, a center console, 16-inch Trans Am GTA wheels, new tires, air conditioning, and removable roof panels. It is finished in black paint over a beige vinyl interior.

Despite having covered only 46,000 miles from new, just this year this Trans Am was stripped to bare metal and the exterior was refinished in the original color of black. At this time the owner added a very cool GTA ground effects kit. The interior of this Trans Am looks to be absolutely mint.

These Trans Am cars are some of the most iconic pony cars of the 1980s and are quite fun to drive. The styling (when compared to the Smokey and the Bandit era cars) that proceeded the new design of the Trans Am was more of a revolution than an evolution. The design and interior look started to get more attention from collectors.

As welcome at RADwood as they are a local car show, a Trans Am like this one is likely to win a lot of awards. The fact that it’s a fun to drive and pop culture icon is just a bonus. If you want to do something really cool you can register for the Bandit Run rally which is a rally that is run on the Smokey and the Bandit movie route.

The auction for this 1983 Pontiac Trans Am ends on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. (PDT)
