Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 6,000-mile 1997 Dodge Viper GTS. Of course, it’s powered by an 8.0-liter V10 mated to a six-speed manual transmission. California-owned since new, this Viper features Michelin Pilot Sport tires, leather-wrapped steering wheel, stainless steel exhaust system and adjustable gas shock absorbers. Finished in red over a black leather interior, this second-generation Viper is offered with a clean CARFAX report and a clear California title.

This Viper GTS coupe’s Viper Red exterior features projector halogen headlights, fog lamps, integrated rear spoiler and dual, center-mounted stainless steel exhaust outlets.

Polished aluminum 17-inch five-spoke wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires.

The two-seat cockpit is fitted with black leather high-back bucket seats with matching components. Amenities include air conditioning, power windows and door locks, adjustable pedals, remote keyless entry, tilt steering wheel and AM/FM/CD radio.

White-faced instrumentation includes a 200-mph speedometer, 7,000-rpm tachometer and auxiliary gauges showing fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure and voltage. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads about 6,000 miles, which is in line with the most recent CARFAX report.

The front-hinged clamshell hood opens to an aluminum 8.0-liter V10 that was rated at 450 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a console-shifted TREMEC T-56 six-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential with 3.07 gearing.

The chassis uses a tubular space frame with center spine structure. Stopping power comes from four-wheel ventilated disc brakes, and the suspension has adjustable gas shock absorbers along with power-assisted rack and pinion steering.
