A pedestrian died early Monday morning after she was struck by a vehicle on San Jose city streets, according to authorities.
San Jose police responded to the crash in the area of Tully Road and Lanai Avenue at 4:32 a.m. In a tweet, police said the victim, a woman, was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said. Street closures were in place around the area as of 6 a.m. Monday.

No other details were immediately made available.
The death was San Jose’s 13th traffic fatality of 2023 and the woman was the 10th pedestrian killed on city streets.
