Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this restored 1970 Ford Mustang Mach I SportsRoof. Power comes from the legendary 428 Cobra Jet V8 with ram air paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Notable equipment includes limited-slip rear, Magnum 500-style wheels, Shaker hood scoop and rev limiter. Finished in Grabber Green over a black vinyl interior, this garage-kept 1970 Mustang Mach 1 comes with Deluxe Marti Report documentation, the original 14-inch wheels with hubcaps and new white-letter bias-ply tires, and a clear title.

This Mach I SportsRoof (Ford-speak for “fastback”) was originally delivered to Glen Organ Ford in Compton, California. The exterior has received a complete respray in the original Grabber Green hue (code Z) with black stripes. Exterior features include both chin and rear spoilers, hood pins, dual racing mirrors and rear window louvers.

Magnum 500-style 15-inch wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires.

The interior is fitted with black vinyl high-back bucket seats and Sport Deck folding rear seat. Amenities include simulated woodgrain trim, analog clock, tilt steering column, AM/FM radio, tinted glass and Hurst shifter.

Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, 8,000-rpm tachometer and auxiliary gauges that show the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 64,939 miles, which the seller reports to be accurate.

The “R-code” 428 Cobra Jet comes with a Shaker air induction system. While Marti Report documentation shows this Mach 1 was originally manufactured with a C6 three-speed automatic transmission, power is now sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted Toploader close-ratio four-speed manual and 3.50:1 Traction-Lok limited-slip differential.

Stopping power is provided by power front disc brakes and rear drums. Steering is power-assisted.

The sale also includes historic registration cards, vintage California blue license plates and dealer frames.

The auction for this 1970 Ford Mustang Mach I SportsRoof ends on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. (PDT)
