“Beautiful 1980 Corvette L82 numbers-matching in excellent condition,” the listing states. “It needs nothing but a driver. I have owned this car for five years and have replaced numerous parts.”
This red-on-red Corvette comes from the model’s third generation which was produced between 1967 and 1982. Design for this car drew inspiration from the “Mako Shark II” concept car dating back as far as the early 1960s, and vehicle production took place in St. Louis, Missouri until 1981 followed by Bowling Green, Kentucky from then onward.
“I have been a Corvette enthusiast for over 30 years,” the seller states. “This is the longest I have ever owned a Corvette, simply because the car is in great condition and is a real head-turner.”
As nice as this performance coupe looks, the seller clarifies that the car is not 100% perfect. The car is described as a ten-footer, and the interior needs work like the fixing the driver mirror adjustment knob. Photos in the listing show close-up areas of the paint finish with blemishes.
Under the hood lives an optional numbers-matching L82 motor that was rated at 230 horsepower. This small-block 5.7-liter overhead-valve V8 was only available when paired with an automatic transmission in 1980. Service history under the seller’s ownership has been solid, with a list of recent work including an upgrade of the air conditioning system along with replacement components for the radiator, spark plugs and wires, valve covers, brakes, battery, belts, hoses, and tires. Maintenance records are available.
“Compared to most similar cars, this Corvette is priced accordingly due to condition,” the seller states. “As you can see from the photos, it is in excellent condition.”
The asking price is $21,500 for this C3, which includes floor mats, a brochure, a warranty booklet, owner’s manuals, and service records.
This might be just the car you need to complete your own American dream.
