Crossing the auction block at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2023 was a very unique silver on black F-100 pickup. Despite being 70 years old, this pickup was no slouch: It was custom-built as a restomod to include the “go” to back up its “show,” courtesy of a freshly rebuilt big-block 429cid V8 upgraded with Edelbrock Performer RPM 460 heads. Added to the list of performance parts was a March serpentine drive kit, a Comp cam, an Edelbrock intake, an MSD distributor, and a 750cfm carburetor. The body sat on top of its original chassis but had reinforced rails and an updated independent front suspension and Strange adjustable coilovers for that aggressive lowered stance.

These F-Series pickups remain popular in the collector community for their style, and this one had all sorts of modern goodies adding to the appeal. Inside the cab, we found AutoMeter gauges, an Autosound head unit, and an eight-inch Pioneer subwoofer along with Vintage Air climate control for those hot summer days. Capping off the look was a stunning set of staggered Boyd chrome wheels in 18-inch up front and 20-inch in the rear, along with a host of full-LED exterior illumination to keep the fun going long after sunset.
