A man was killed Tuesday morning when his vehicle struck an Amtrak train in Dixon.
He was identified by the Solano County Coroner’s Office as Arturo Gonzalez, 59, of Dixon.
The incident occurred around 9:20 a.m. at Tremont and Robben roads.
According to an Amtrak official, Amtrak train 531 was occupied by 62 passengers and crew members when it was struck by the vehicle.
The locomotive separated from the passenger cars, the official continued, but no major damage was reported. As well, no injuries were reported.
Riders were subsequently transferred to alternative transportation and continued on their journeys.
The matter remains under investigation.
