ANTIOCH — A man suspected in the stabbing of a pregnant woman and two minors Saturday was arrested about 30 miles away in Solano County after leading police on a lengthy chase.

The victims, an 11-year-old girl, 14-year-old boy and 35-year-old woman, were taken to a hospital. Two of them remain in critical condition and needed to be airlifted.

The stabbing took place around 3:55 p.m. at the Bayview Apartments at 137 Wilbur Avenue, a housing complex in a mostly industrial area of Antioch near the San Joaquin River.

The suspect, a 37-year-old man, was arrested in Cordelia, a small community off Interstate 680 in Solano County, where the local sheriff’s office assisted in the pursuit.

Antioch police did not confirm more details about the suspect and declined to say anything about the victims’ relationship to the suspect or each other.

Officers were still at the scene of the stabbing into the evening hours Saturday, but police said after the suspect’s arrest that there was no active threat to the public.
