Libs of TikTok founder Chaya Raichik will participate in a children’s story reading event in New York on Sunday at exactly the same time a “Drag Story Hour read-a-thon” promoted by New York Attorney General Letitia James is held elsewhere in the Big Apple.
“NY AG Letitia James is hosting a drag story hour for kids this Sunday. I decided to host my own story hour down the street from hers! Protect your kids and come hear an important message at an event that’s actually family friendly,” Raichik tweeted from the Libs of TikTok Twitter account.
Raichik, who authored a children’s book titled “No More Secrets: The Candy Cavern,” and Brave Books founder Trent Talbot will be at the event, according to an Eventbrite posting — the event is slated to be held at the Women’s National Republican Club.
Meanwhile, a Drag Story Hour event will be held at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in New York. “My office is proud to host a Drag Story Hour read-a-thon on Sunday, March 19 from 11AM-3PM,” James noted on Instagram.
“Join Attorney General Letitia James, Drag Storytellers, and city and state elected leaders for a Drag Story Hour Read-A-Thon,” an Eventbrite post says.
All of the various city and state officials listed as event co-sponsors are Democrats.
Raichik’s kids’ book is meant to teach children to trust their parents and not to keep secrets from them.
The book features a teacher character who “suspiciously convinces his students to eat candy and treats everyday at school while telling them to keep it a secret from their parents,” Raichik has noted. “Mr. Wooly uses phrases like, ‘don’t worry about what your parents said,’ ‘you can trust me,’ and ‘my class is a safe space.’ These are the very phrases that predators in authority positions use on children,” Raichik wrote.
