Former Prosecutor: 2024 puts Trump prosecution “on a timetable”
“The Department of Justice wants the public to have confidence that it’s outside of politics,” says former prosecutor Renato Mariotti, adding that if Special Counsel Jack Smith “indicts soon, it won’t be seen as too close to the election, but he’s on a timetable.”
