This AutoHunter Cinema video features Jeff Sutton looking at a 2008 Spyker C8 Spyder. Spyker itself has an interesting history: it bought SAAB from General Motors in 2010 and has twice gone bankrupt. Though it’s not over for this Dutch company, as it was recently “saved” by Russian investors.
This Dutch supercar features a unique blend of automotive and aeronautic styling that can be seen in the propeller steering wheel, Aeroblade wheels and Spyker badges. Power comes from an Audi-sourced, 400-horsepower 4.2-liter V8 mated to a six-speed Getrag transaxle. In a vehicle that weighs only 2,756 pounds, the powerplant can propel the Spyker to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, with an estimated top speed of 186 mph. Only 121 C8 Spyders were produced, with this particular example finished in a unique yellow pearl over black leather interior.
