A millennium is defined as a period of a thousand years, so it’s fitting that a Y2K Corvette received a paint color called Millennium Yellow to recognize the dawn of a new millennium.

“The 56,000 low original miles make it clear that this car was well-loved and well taken care of,” the seller states. Incidentally, Millennium Yellow was one of four new colors that came out for the Corvette in 2000. The other three were Magnetic Red II, Ruby Star Red, and Dark Bowling Green.
This Corvette comes from the fifth generation, which initially debuted in 1997, with architecture coming from the Y-body platform and manufacturing taking place in Bowling Green, Kentucky. General Motors’ engineers went to great lengths to optimize weight distribution, and they succeeded in achieving equal 50-50 balance from front to rear. The debut for the C5 also brought a new hydroformed box frame that reportedly improved structural rigidity while reducing rattles. Available body styles of this generation included a hatchback, a fixed-roof coupe, and a convertible as shown here.
The seller states that this ‘Vette came with “every available option,” which included things such as air conditioning, chrome wheels, a 12-disc audio system, cruise control, and power convenience options. The only component that has been modified from stock configuration is the upgraded Borla exhaust system.
Under the hood, power for this car comes from a 345-horsepower 350cid LS1 V8 mated to a 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission. From 2001 onward, output was increased, and higher-performance variants including the Z06 became available.
Speaking of celebrating millenniums: There has always been debate about whether the year 2000 or the year 2001 marked the official start of the new millennium. Popular culture held onto the idea that it should be kicked off on 1/1/2000, and clearly Chevrolet was of that same mindset when it named this color.
These days, it’s fun to look back and reminisce about the frenzy surrounding the Y2K phenomenon. Even Best Buy would place reminder stickers on computer systems reminding people to turn off their devices before midnight to avoid any software glitches when the system “rolled over” from 99 to 00. Thankfully, the widespread impact of Y2K ended up being far less than anticipated, and we got some cool colors like Millennium Yellow to remember it by.
The seller states that the car has always been garage-kept and covered, and at 23 years old, the condition of the car corroborates that statement. The asking price is $22,500 or best offer for this nice C5.
