PACIFICA – Detectives on Tuesday arrested a 37-year-old San Francisco man on suspicion of secretly taking videos of women and an 11-year-old girl at a Pacifica clothing store, police said.
Around 1 p.m. on Jan. 22, officers were called to the business for a report of a man who was using his cellphone to surreptitiously record female shoppers in a changing room, the Pacifica Police Department said in a news release. The man left before officers arrived, but witnesses provided a detailed description of the suspect.
Employees also provided officers access to the store’s security cameras, police said.
Detectives linked the man to similar incidents in Pacifica and San Francisco, and they obtained a search warrant for his home and electronic devices, which “yielded additional evidence,” police said. The case was then submitted to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office for criminal charges and an arrest warrant.
Around 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, detectives arrested the man and booked him into county jail on three misdemeanor charges of viewing a person’s body in a private room.
