A federal indictment accused an alleged Crips gang member of luring a 14-year-old girl through Instagram into prostitution and other heinous crimes.
The Eastern New York District of the U.S. Attorney’s Office documented the unsealing of the indictment against Justin Dixon on Tuesday.
Investigators alleged that the 32-year-old contacted a 14-year-old girl through Instagram and manipulated her into forced prostitution along with many other females. The criminal complaint said he took her phone and told her she’d have to earn it back by having sex with paid customers.
He is accused of making her consume pills that would help her gain weight in order to make her appear older.
“Dixon constantly overfed Jane Doe and consistently told her that she needed to eat more, in order to look older than her current age,” assistant U.S. attorney Lorena Michelen wrote.
“The defendant also told Jane Doe that he was arranging a trip to Florida with Jane Doe and that he wanted to arrange plastic surgery for Jane Doe, including breast implants, in order to make her appear older than her current age,” she added.
Prosecutors said Dixon would threaten the females with violence if they didn’t serve him at a residence in Staten Island where they were forced to be nude at all times while they cooked and cleaned for him.
He allegedly nicknamed the 14-year-old girl “tiny” because of her small frame.
Police arrested Dixon at the Staten Island residence on Jan. 26. He has a criminal record going back to 2016.
Dixon was charged with sex trafficking, coercion and enticement of a minor, sexual exploitation of a minor, and felon in possession. If convicted, he faces a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and a maximum of life in prison.
Experts warn parents to monitor their interactions on social media and elsewhere on the internet as sexual predators regularly try to lure children through popular online platforms.
