When it comes to shooting a rifle, a stabilized forend greatly enhances accuracy. However, a tripod or bipod is not always immediately handy or feasible. Not to mention, they are not really a viable solution for close-quarters engagement. Therefore, barricade stops, like the M-LOK Barricade Stop from Magpul, offer a quick bracing solution. All you need is a solid surface to brace it on, and you have suitable stabilization.
The Magpul M-LOK Barricade Stop
At our recent Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous, Magpul showed up with a host of cool stuff. Perhaps one of the simplest—yet full-function—items was its M-LOK Barricade Stop. It’s amazing how something so small and simple can make such a big difference.
Featuring a polymer construction, the barricade stop utilizes the M-LOK mounting platform for a solid installation. The design works double duty as both a barricade stop and a hand stop for further stabilization. Likewise, milled lines help to prevent slippage when used as a hand stop.
Featuring a corrosion-resistant QPD ferritic nitrocarburized steel plate insert, the stop provides confident contact with your shooting rest. This is specifically due to the aggressive teeth covering the front of the plate. Similarly, the plate is slightly curved for optimized contact on uneven surfaces and allows the firearm to pivot while maintaining contact.
If the steel plate ever wears down, you can simply slide it out and replace it with a new plate. The Barricade Stop ships with a polymer body, metal insert, and two sets of M-LOK hardware.
