An employee of a San Jose auto parts store was arrested Saturday after allegedly attacking a food vendor at the 1400 block of Old Bayshore Highway.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:40 a.m. when a food vendor told authorities he had been attacked by a 43-year-old male employee at Intex Auto Parts with a baseball bat. The employee also allegedly tried to move the food vendor’s car in an attempted carjacking.

A video of the incident posted online shows the auto parts employee approaching the food vendor and telling him to leave the area. “This is illegal,” the employee says in the video while repeatedly hitting the food vendor’s property with a metal baseball bat. At one point, the employee briefly enters the food vendor’s red pickup truck. The video also shows an additional employee of the auto parts store standing behind their colleague.

The food vendor declined medical attention, according to authorities.
