A 53-year-old man was arrested in San Francisco in connection with an explosion and fire that erupted at a San Francisco home earlier this week.

The fire broke out at around 9:20 a.m. Thursday on the 1700 block of 22nd Avenue, the San Francisco Fire Department said in a news release. Police came to the scene to help firefighters extinguish the blaze. As investigators looked around and sifted through the rubble, they found evidence that the home may have been housing a narcotics manufacturing facility and found the remnants of a woman’s body.

After investigating, officials confirmed that there was an illegal narcotics manufacturing lab in the home. The woman’s death occurred at the lab and is still being investigated, they said.

At 4:30 p.m. on Friday, police located the suspect on the unit block of Newhall Street and arrested him. The suspect, Darron Price, was booked into the San Francisco County Jail on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter, manufacturing narcotics and child endangerment.

Specifically, Price faces charges of manufacturing phencyclidine, known as PCP or “angel dust,” according to jail records.

Police say their investigation into the incident is ongoing. Anyone with information can call SFPD’s anonymous tip line at 1-415-575-4444.
