OAKLEY — A 48-year-old Brentwood man was killed early Sunday when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a vehicle, authorities said.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Gustavo Garcia.
Authorities said Garcia’s motorcycle collided with a vehicle about 3:10 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Laurel Road and Mellowood Drive. Garcia was allegedly speeding, police said.
As one car pulled out from out from Mellowood Drive onto Laurel Road, the motorcycle hit it and went at least 100 yards up a steep road, police said.
Paramedics pronounced him dead there.
Police shut down the road in both directions for about 3 1/2 hours to investigate. Both lanes were not opened fully until about 9 a.m.
