MOUNTAIN VIEW – Three armed suspects robbed a jewelry store and shot at a witness who tried to follow them Friday morning in Mountain View, according to police.
Around 11:50 a.m., the Mountain View Police Department received reports that three armed suspects had entered a jewelry store in the 1900 block of Latham Avenue and taken money from the register, as well as personal belongings from employees and customers.
The suspects then left the business and got into a black sedan heading northbound on Rengstorff Avenue. A witness followed the suspects in their own car, and when they reached the onramp to Highway 101, the suspects shot at the witness, hitting their car at least once, police said.
No injuries were reported in either the robbery or the shooting.
Officers were dispatched to the onramp and the jewelry store, both of which remained closed Friday afternoon.
The suspects were last seen wearing dark clothing, police said.
Police urged anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspects or their car to call 911. Information can also be sent to Detective Jason Roldan at jason.roldan@mountainview.gov.
