DPC is back on the road and covering the 2023 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction. Part four of his odyssey from Phoenix to WestWorld of Scottsdale is available here

The comments section is often toxic and I do my best to avoid it when I am reading news and feature articles by other writers. There’s enough negativity and bad energy out there and I don’t need more in my life. I’m not implying that one must absolutely agree with the narrative and content of a story, but things can be done in a civil manner without insults and the caps lock on. I’ve gotten a mix of good and bad comments from my own work over the years. I love the good ones and I understand the negative ones. With so much negative energy and vitriol out there in the comments section I sometimes forget the ones that touch my heart and remind me why I love writing about cars.

Thank you David for the blow by blow report. Keep them coming
We were suppose to be there, I had surprised my husband with VIP Tickets. He is an avid car guy, he just rebuild from the ground up a 1981 Corvette. We were so excited that we were going since this has been on his bucket list, but he got grounded for a (Surprise) Aortic Aneurysm . He is heading to the OR for open heart surgery Sad to say.
If we can’t be there we can at least live through your eye’s
Thank you –
Melissa Cavender

I was verklempt when I read this comment from Day Three of my Barrett-Jackson diary and it was a simple reminder that collector cars are great, but one’s health is far more important. We are part of the same community and it’s the people, not the cars that make our hobby so much fun. I look forward to Arizona Auction Week every year. The cars are great, I always come across something new, but seeing my friends here and catching up is the best part.

I am asking for a favor. Please send love, hope and positive messages to Melissa Cavender and her husband in the comments section. Love and support can go a long way during difficult times, and we are here to help.
