Tesla confirmed it is investing $3.6 billion to its Giga Nevada operations and plans to build two new factories on the site. The first will be a 100.0-GWh 4680 cell factory with the capacity to produce batteries for 1.5 million vehicles each year. The second factory is confirmed to be Tesla’s first high-production factory for the Tesla Semi. The investment will result in four million additional square feet of manufacturing and 3000 additional jobs for Tesla’s Giga Nevada facility.
