DUBLIN — One person died Monday at the scene of a two-alarm fire at a home just east of Interstate 680 lanes, authorities said.
Alameda County Fire Department firefighters aboard three engines and a truck with two battalion chiefs responded just after 3:40 p.m. to reports of a structure fire in the 7800 block of Mayan Way.
Fire division chief Randall West said crews arrived within minutes and managed to contain the fire, whose cause was under investigation.
Firefighters provided life-saving medical efforts to a person who was later pronounced dead at the scene. The person’s identity was not available, pending next-of-kin notification by the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office coroner’s bureau.
West said four adults and four children were displaced by the fire, and a dog was taken to a pet hospital for treatment of injuries.
Dublin police officers and firefighters with the Livermore-Pleasanton and San Ramon Valley fire departments provided traffic-control assistance and mutual-aid coverage during the response.
