South San Jose, you’ve got your Shake Shack.
The cult favorite New York City opened its newest location today at Westfield Oakridge mall.
The fast-casual eatery was founded as a hot-dog cart in a New York City park but quickly became known for its all-natural Angus beef burgers. However, there’s still an all-natural Vienna beef “flat-top dog” on the menu — along with cage-free chicken sandwiches, crinkle-cut French fries and hand-spun milkshakes, plus the seasonal Christmas Cookie, Chocolate Peppermint and Chocolate Milk & Cookies shakes.
Hot Ones are the newest sandwich offerings, a burger and a crispy white-meat chicken sandwich topped with Spicy ShackSauce, applewood-smoked bacon and Monterey Jack and served on a toasted potato bun.
The Oakridge menu also features the regional sandwich, the Golden State Double, two grass-fed patties (sourced by Cream Co. Meats of Oakland), with bread-and-butter pickles made in-house, white cheddar and smoked garlic aioli.
Next up for the Bay Area is a Shake Shack at San Francisco’s Stonestown Galleria. That will open Thursday, Dec. 22.
