Chicago is always a wealth of news proving the importance of concealed carry. The embattled city is in the news every Monday, detailing the litany of shootings that weekend. It is sad, tragic, and an undeniable example of the failed policies in Democrat-run cities. The recent example of a 23-year old woman who shoots a carjacker in the head while facing a carjacking by four armed suspects only highlights the issue.
Chicago Woman Shoots Armed Carjacker in the Head
Early Wednesday morning in the Calumet Heights neighborhood of Chicago, a woman sat in her vehicle minding her own business. Sometime shortly after 2 a.m., four armed men exit a black sedan near the woman’s vehicle. Flashing a gun, one carjacker tries to open her car door when things take a turn.
According to CBS News, “The woman, who has a concealed carry license, shot that man in the head, then ran off from her car.”
Unfortunately, as she fled, the woman was shot by his accomplice in the left arm. Fortunately, she is in fair condition at Trinity Hospital. We cannot say the same for the attempted carjacker, who is in critical condition at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
As the old saying goes, “there is no honor among thieves,” and this case proves no different. The other three suspects fled the scene following the shooting, leaving their accomplice behind.
A Two-Fer: Related?
Sadly, this isn’t the only incident around the same time frame.
CBS News further reports, “Police said, around 2:15 a.m., an unidentified man was found in the passenger seat of a stolen black Kia Rio near 80th Street and King Drive, with a gunshot wound to the head.”
According to reports, the man did not survive. Police cannot confirm if the two cases were connected, but Area 2 detectives were investigating both cases.
However, it is clear that criminals are emboldened in the Democrat-run city, and carjackings are a problem.
According to Fox News, “In just one hour, seven carjackings were reported on Chicago’s West Side on Friday morning, police confirmed to Fox News Digital.”
Fortunately for the woman above, she has her concealed carry permit and was not a victim that night. However, many are not so lucky in the strict gun control state. Which is clearly contributing to the rise in violent crime.
If you live in Chicago, do whatever you can to obtain your CCW and carry regularly. As we continue to demonstrate, guns save lives — keep yours handy.
