Livermore Valley wineries will bring the holly, the jolly and the flights at the annual Holiday in the Vineyards, which runs from noon to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 3 and 4. This Livermore wine country tradition goes all out with decorated tasting rooms, special wines, arts and crafts, holiday music and family activities that vary from winery to winery.

Wente Vineyards’ historic barrel room, for example, has been transformed into a family-friendly holiday wonderland, with food trucks, live music and a holiday market on the winery property as well. You can sip Bellini Bombs or indulge in a port and Jelly Belly pairing at Cedar Mountain Winery, and enjoy The Cheese Parlor fare at Longevity Wines and Bent Creek.

Expect live music at a slew of wineries, including 3 Steves, Fenestra and Rosa Fierra, which is adding Santa photo ops to the mix. A dozen wineries — Cuda Ridge and Omega Road, among them — will have food trucks and food carts on site. And 20 wineries are adding craft and gift markets to their offerings, offering the chance to knock out some holiday shopping at the same time you sample some sips.

Admission is free, tasting fees vary by winery and donations of new, unwrapped gifts for the Toys for Tots donation drive are encouraged. Find the full lineup at www.lvwine.org.
