A person died early Sunday morning when a truck slammed into a tree in Bethel Island, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The single-vehicle crash happened about 2:10 a.m. when a Toyota truck went off of Sugar Barge Road, west of Willow Road, the highway patrol said. The driver of the Toyota truck was pronounced dead at the scene.
Few other details were released about the crash, which remains under investigation. Anyone with information about it can contact the highway patrol at 925-646-4980.
