ANTIOCH — Three Stockton carjacking suspects were arrested here Friday night, including a juvenile who initially tried to deny his involvement but later admitted participating,  authorities said Saturday.

Antioch police said in a release that about 10:41 p.m. Friday  a Brentwood police officer spotted a carjacked Dodge Challenger taken from Stockton and pursued it into Antioch on Highway 4.

Stockton police said the vehicle was taken at gunpoint from a 25-year-old woman about 7:15 p.m. Friday  on West Harding Way near the downtown area. The woman was not hurt.

An Oakley police officer picked up the pursuit but the vehicle was lost in the area of Mission Drive in Antioch, police said.

Antioch police found the vehicle parked on Los Altos Way near Monterey Drive and detained one suspect standing nearby.

A second suspect ran into adjacent yards and police quickly established a perimeter.

A police drone operator  spotted the suspect  hiding in a nearby backyard shed. The suspect surrendered peacefully  after hearing warning announcements that a police canine would be sent in to the shed.

The third suspect, a 16-year-old Riverbank resident, called 911 to report he was a runaway  and had been in the carjacked vehicle, but initially denied involvement in the crime, authorities said.  He surrendered himself to officers and eventually admitted he had been involved in the carjacking, police said.

The three suspects,  18 and 19-year-old Richmond residents and the 16-year-old,  were turned over to Stockton police.  Police did not say if any weapons were recovered.

Stockton police said investigators would be trying to determine if the suspects were involved in any similar crimes.
