All three children who were among the five people killed in a two-car head-on crash early Thursday on Highway 4 were under 10 years old, authorities said Friday.

Tiara Tucker, 27, and three children — 9-year-old Kaliyah Johnson-Ochoa; 5-year-old Mariah Mihailovic; and 4-year-old Keilani Johnson-Ochoa — all were identified as Vallejo residents. The fifth person was identified as Lasaundra Goode, 44, of Vacaville.

Contra Costa County Sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee released the names of all five people Friday morning.

The crash happened about 12:10 a.m. Thursday. The California Highway Patrol said a Hyundai with the driver and three children drove east in the westbound lanes of Highway 4 and slammed into a Ford Flex just west of Loveridge Road.

In 2022, there have been 13 fatal crashes on the highway. The Thursday-morning collision was the first one with more than one death. There were 16 fatal crashes on the highway last year — 14 with a single death and one incident with two deaths.

The CHP said it has not determined whether drugs or alcohol were involved. Toxicology tests will give them a better idea, the agency said.
