Ford’s F-150 Lightning pickup truck has had a few issues of late, most notably how cruising range is impacted by towing. If towing is of paramount importance to you yet you have an interest in EVs, then perhaps this F-150 Lightning that is at Florida’s Legoland theme park will do the trick.
As part of Legoland’s “brick build fleet,” this F-150 Lightning has become a permanent display outside the park’s Ford Driving School attraction. It was built via a partnership between Legoland Florida Resort and Southern Ford Dealers group to commemorate Ford’s foray into EV trucks. A group of 15 Master Model Builders (yes, they exist) spent more than 1,600 hours in aggregate assembling 320,740 Lego bricks to form a Lightning that measures more than 19 feet long and almost seven feet across.
The whole build weighs 3,730 pounds, which is about 3,000 lighter than a real one. This can be attributed to the special lightweight Lego batteries that were utilized. Headlights and taillights even work! Visit here to watch a video of the build come to life, one brick at a time.
The F-150 Lightning joins a Ford Explorer that was built a little more than 10 years ago, though the Lightning is Legoland’s first EV.
